Taiwan’s Hong Fu has received a land allotment letter from the Tamil Nadu government in India for a new manufacturing facility.
The company is expected to invest ₹1,000 crore over three to five years to build a footwear manufacturing unit in Ranipet, with the proposed plant set to generate 20,000 jobs.
Hong Fu is known for producing shoes for global brands.
An official release stated that 130 acres of land has been identified in the Ranipet district for the project, and the land allotment order was presented to Hong Fu president TY Chang by the minister of industries, Thangam Thennarasu, at an event held in the secretariat.
The event was attended by several officials, including S Krishan, the additional chief secretary of the industries department; E Sundaravalli, the managing director of the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT); and Vishnu, the MD and CEO of Guidance Tamil Nadu.
Hong Fu is known for manufacturing footwear for various global brands.
