Spain’s apparel import from Asia-Pacific surges to $843 mn in July

Spain’s apparel import from the Asia-Pacific region increased to $843.691 million in July 2022, compared to $673.174 million in the previous month. The import was largest in the last six months. Asian countries like Bangladesh and China were among the top five suppliers. Spain’s total apparel imports from the world stood at $1.763 billion during the month.

According to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro, Spain’s apparel import from the Asia-Pacific region decreased to $673.174 million in June from $721.615 million in May 2022. The country had recorded apparel of $740.580 million in April from the region, $753.424 million in March, and $721.854 million in February 2022.

Asian countries like Bangladesh and China were among the top five suppliers. Spain’s total apparel imports from the world stood at $1.763 billion during the month.

On quarterly basis, Spain’s imports of apparel from the Asia-Pacific region were noted at $2,135.370 million in Q2 2022, $2,232.131 million in Q1 2022, $2,520.331 million in Q4 2021, $2,239.554 million in Q3 2021, and $1,521.233 million in Q2 2021, as per TexPro.

As per country wise analysis, in 2021, Spain imported apparel worth $2.877 billion (15.06 per cent) from Bangladesh, followed by $2.774 billion (14.51 per cent) from Turkiye, $2.693 billion (14.09 per cent) from China, $1.955 billion (10.23 per cent) from Morocco, $1.401 billion (7.33 per cent) from France and $1.299 billion (6.80 per cent) from Italy.
