Kate Spade has done it again with their novelty bags, and this time they truly touch the heart, and the stomach, of New Yorkers and foodies all over with the now-viral Slice 3D Pizza Box Top-handle Bag. The purse, which indeed is a fully functional bag, is made to look exactly like a bedazzled version of a pizza takeout box, from the red, black and white color scheme to the retro checkered design.
The bag blew up on TikTok and then has been spotted all over Instagram and other social media, calling out to Kate Spade collectors, New Yorkers and anyone who loves a hot slice of the best food on Earth… well, at least in our NYC opinion.
The devil is in the details here, as the pizza box bag was ordered with extra toppings. The bag charms that come with the bag are dead ringers for parmesan and red pepper flakes, in the same jars that you would find in any corner slice shop in the city. Take a closer look and you’ll also find a delivery number for takeout — which, when our journalists gave it a ring, actually directs you to the Kate Spade Broome Street location in New York City. Other details are true to Kate Spade’s immaculate construction of bags, novelty and not. The bag is made from embellished satin with patent leather trim and comes with a leather crossbody strap, should you want to go hands-free while carrying a real pizza. It has gold hardware and a top closure latch, which then opens to reveal a pink lining and an interior slip pocket.
